ERICSSON LAUNCHES DIRECT CALLS FROM WEB SITES

Corporation : Ericsson Inc has released an IP
telephony product that enables Internet
users to call a customer service, sales or
technical support representative by clicking
on an icon on a web site. The Phone Doubler
Quick Call (PDQC) product, which uses
microclient software to provide fast
downloading from the web, allows call
centres and e-commerce providers to receive
the direct calls from the Internet without
replacing their current phone system and it
works with any telephone system, PBX or call
center system. The PDQC system, which also
allows phone to phone calls and fax calls
over IP networks, costs US$55,000 for a fully
loaded, fully installed system.
