Little Joe, I have a more cynical take on the surprise .25% rate cut. An election is less than three weeks away and with this rate cut and IMF refunding the world is now saved at least until after the election. Both parties want to take credit for this and hopefully take or retain power in the U.S. congress. The leaders of both parties say this will be a good day for the American people. Social security will be saved, the budget balanced, blah, blah, blah.

The only true beneficiaries of this action will be gold bugs as the hedge funds get a sequel to yen-dollar liquidation II coming to a global theatre near you.

Somebody was tipped off to this earlier this week. Even the oil stocks were headed up before the rate cut was announced.

Terry,
