Hello Ken: Thank you for this wonderful thread. I have a question here and would appreciate your input.

I see you place a lot of importance to different execution system, ARCA, INCA, ISLD, Instinet etc, I just wonder what is the system that a regular discount broker use to execute the trade?? For instance, if I call up my broker to buy/sell COMS, I would get a quote of said bid $29 1/2, ask $29 9/16..what's the system they use?? If I want to buy/sell NYSE stock..let say GE, what's the system there?? Thanks.
