DELL COMPUTER CORP said it could continue growth in the Asia Pacific region despite a shrinking or stagnant overall market. "For the next year or two or three in Asia, we don't need market expansion, we don't need increased IT spend to succeed," Dell Asia Pacific president John Legere told a briefing. "We have 2.5% market share in Asia, so all I need to do is to continue to deploy the Dell model successfully and take share from the existing players," Legere said. In the second quarter to August 2, Dell grew revenues in Asia Pacific, including Japan, by 34% on a year ago to US$280 mln. (Reuters 12:13 AM ET 10/15/98)
