Basically, there is absolutely no reason now to sell the stock. Management continues to low-ball, and that's fine with me. If the market potential for OO programming tools of several bn dollars over the next 5 years hold true (we had these nos. here from IDC or Jupiter or whomever) and at the same time RATL is succeeding in raising the bar to enter the business, as I was reading here or over at the Yahoo! board, what do we get???

Glancing at this Q results, I like that software sales revs. are up also. This was a concern in the past in that they grew the consulting side nicely, but not the licenses sales. This looks better now also.

The Yahoo! board that I have not visited in months seems to have gained a bit in informative value. The tone is that the conf call was a "Killer", with Levy guiding toards higher nos. for rev. and earnings for 3/99 and 3/2000.

2 things I keep in mind: At $18 the stock is not exactly cheap based on present results. OK, we know the future looks good. Also, their ROE is still rather low at about 9 pct. over the last 6 months and has room for improvement. From this perspective the share buyback makes sense.

In all, RATL well deserves to be invested in, in my opinion.
