You seem to be very happy to believe it when there is an URL link. Here is the benchmark. K7 has 4X peak FP power over PII core in double-precision calculation. K7 has 2X peak FP power over PII core in single-precision calculation. K7 has 3X peak FP power over PII core in integer calculation. Putting in a fudge factor of 60-80%, the K7 will be about 50% clock for clock faster than the PII logic core. Are you happy now? This will beat your El Camino as well as your Ala Cascade. Yeah I called Gwennap up and he said it's about right. I called up AMD and they say they'll get back to me. I called up Intel and they said yeah they are 18+ month behind. I talked to my Intel buddy and he said they have a yield problem. That is right I called up just about everyone like you told me to and they all told me the same thing.
