Bob:

From Briefing.com:

Intel Corp. (INTC) 84 9/16: chip maker is making a $500 mln investment in Micron Technology (MU 31 3/4) and will own a 6% stake in the company; says investment in MU to help speed up Rambus (RMBS 61 1/2) memory chip development.....

Micron Technology Inc. (MU) 31 3/4 delayed: Gruntal & Co. upgrades memory chip maker from "buy" to "strong buy" after Intel decides to make a $500 mln investment for chip development.....

Micron Technology Inc. (MU) 31 3/4 delayed: --UPDATE-- Bear Stearns upgrades memory chip maker from "attractive" to "buy".....

A good thing TXN kept a sizable equity stake in MU. INTC wants the manufacturing know how to begin to get memory directly on the microprocessor. Fetch/write is becoming a limiting factor on CPU speeds. Memory isn't such a "commodity" any more. I'm holding onto every single share of TXN.
