TCI has decided to use Cornerstone Voice for cable telephony applications over HFC.

Cornestone is the brand name for cable telephony owned by Arris Interactive, a joint venture of ANTEC and NORTEL. Cornerstone has an integrated side-of-the-home (SOTH) solution for voice and data through their single, small box that does not have to be installed inside your house. A very intriguing application that is non-intrusive but requires lots of HFC plant upgrades to implements. Guess who sells the equipment for those upgrades? That's right, ANTEC!

Of course, there are other suppliers for the plant upgrades like GI and Scientific-Atlanta but with TCI owning 20% of ANTEC, you know who will get the lion's share of the business.
