Rumour is that it is the Robertson Stephens group which held about 20% of NVB.

There is a July9/98 article in the Globe and Mail which spells out a strategy whereby an entity could attempt to acquire 100% of the NVB shares, and than go to Inco with a proposal to cancel these shares in exchange for an ownership interest. Will attempt later to see if the article is on the net somewhere and post it.
