Just to lay out the few facts we have and end this discussion before it gets ugly: the KCAP release mentioned only a price comparison between itself and CDnow on Top Twenty albums. The news release specifically cited the example of a Spice Girls album, which KCAP sells for $9.35 (against $15.27 for CDnow).

The release is at:

newsalert.com

Please realize that the release does not say anything about pricing beyond this Top Twenty Music List, so we don't have any information about KCAP pricing generally. For all we know, the Top Twenty List could be a loss leader for them. (Note that Shopping.com uses the Billboard Top 40 as a loss leader, selling those albums for $8.97.)

All TSIG pricing is available at:

compactconnection.com

Let's not get carried away making comparisons until we have some solid information to go on. And, even when we begin the comparisons, let's keep in mind that KCAP and TSIG will compete in certain respects, but also remain unique in other important ways. KCAP and TSIG are both trying to create virtual communities of shoppers; they're discount clubs, and KCAP and TSIG will compete in this market space. But the TSIG Card concept also encompasses other characteristics as a marketing vehicle (fund-raising tool, private-label collectible) that make it quite unique from KCAP; TSIG and KCAP won't compete in this space.

To say nothing about the fact that TSIG is primarily a teleservices company, which is an entirely different market segment--.

I like both companies very much and want to see success for investors in each. Over here on the TSIG thread, though, let's keep discussion about KCAP and TSIG tightly focused on facts and factual analysis. I don't think any of us are interested in unfounded hype or bashing in either a pro-KCAP/anti-TSIG or a pro-TSIG/anti-KCAP direction.

My two cents' worth!
