Quarterdeck actually developed their titles. The titles you mentioned are only distributed by Alpha. That makes them effectively worthless for any would be suitor. The biggest reason is any suitor wouldn't receive any technology for their money. If the product that Alpha happens to be selling is worth anything, then the manufacturer would just sell it themselves. Kurzweil is a case in point. They found that they could do it better themselves, so they dropped Alpha as fast as they could. Alpha, NewKidCo and SQ inc. value can only be measured by what they develop. Hotmetal, Alpha 5, Webfiler, Elmo etc. The distributed stuff is junk, generally half-baked software that should be freeware or at best shareware. If you disagree just let me remind you of the PC magazine review on Power Cleaner. To paraphrase: "A dangerous product for experienced and Novice user alike." You want value, focus on what's valuable. You want junk well....
