>>>Now here's my question to you: What happens if you randomize your responses to these questionnaires? How does a list purchaser feel if I am both a 74 yr old male from Wisconsin AND a 16 yr old female corporate executive from Mississippi? Suppose everyone who hates cookies responded this way. The corrupted data in the database soon makes it worthless. And then the use of this type of data-gathering will fade into oblivion.<<

How can cookies be altered? They are not like a survey where you can lie.

I am not just hooked on the cookie subject, it is Internet security / privacy in general. It's true most companies are honest, but WE have the right to surf without being tracked or participate in data mining, unless you want too.

I still go back to JUNK MAIL you receive in your mailbox at home, you fill out one survey, or buy a product from a mail order company, then your name and address is on a Mailing List, that companies purchase, then you receive TONS of Junk Mail.

That should be happening RIGHT about now. With Christmas just around the corner, your mailbox should be filling up with mail order catalogues.

Where I am coming from is:
The NET is more efficient at gathering data. The trick is to stay one step ahead of these companies.

The bottom line is they WILL share data, if there is money involved. Remember Mail Order Mailing Lists!!!!!
