Rajala, The battery point was that lithium ion batteries cost money. Poor people don't want to spend more money than they have to. If they can get phone service without a battery, that's a help.

On the spectral efficiency and therefore capacity, I can't recall exactly but that was one of the major advantages of WLL. In any event, this discussion is a bit boring because like so much, we take it on trust and watch the customers buy, watch the people who know put a lot of money and effort into WLL and we can deduce that WLL has major advantages in poor countries where there is no phone service. Mobile is obviously too expensive. You know how you can tell? Because Mauritius and Russia didn't order mobile systems.

If costs come down to the same, they obviously will as they will get more benefits for the same cost. Pretty straightforward.

PS: Dave has been quite rude to people, and has gone on with quite a bias, so he should know that attracts some critical attention. Just what is his interest? Come to think of it, what's yours?
