Yesterday we went and looked a dead cat. It was lying by the side of the road and we could smell it as we drove up. There were a lot of flies and bugs It was black and had been dead several days. Blue was a very beautiful cat. This was not. But you know-it could have been, I suppose. It looked smaller and not fluffy. But then, death probably does that to you, don't you think? With no Blue spirit inside, maybe the body shrank. I couldn't get closer than five feet. So I'm still not sure. I drove by it again this afternoon, but it looked even worse and I couldn't even make myself get out of the car. Blue would have hated looking like that. He was very proud. I don't know that I want to know. There are now two feral cats who show up at night to be fed. They're unfriendly and frightened. I don't like them. I want my Blue back.
