Had help from the FEDS..Holding tech options through earnings.. is really a no-no. But VRTS and SUNW I had confidence in. I only buy 10 calls so the position is very cheap. I don't get BIG GAINS, but I don't ever get BIG LOSSES either. They are rather consistent but not large.

I had planned to get QLGC and TLAB (options) near the close as well but then the FED intervened and that was not important any longer.

I have been doing quite a bit of analysis of the charts and price histories of the large and mid cap technology stocks and because they have NOT run up and are probably closer to their 200 day MA than their 50 or even 10 day there was less of a chance of a downgrade on valuation(like BMCS) and more of a chance they will zoom on earnings (like QLGC, TLAB, )

Earnings Plays are more profitable now since companies like GCTI (+30%) 1 day,QLGC +30% 2 days,USWB+50% 2 days,TXCC +21% in 2 days (on my list) can be 'found' based on a combination fundamental and technical scans. When they beat they are really given the V.I.S. treatment (Very Important Stock) and they run up..

It's a bizarre situation.. Stocks have run down so much that more of them will have a chance to ascend following a "middling" earnings report on a revised down estimate and even get an upgrade.
