Compaq Launches Enterprise Solution ProviderProgram to Meet Diverse Customer Needs for Enterprise Solutions
October 15, 1998 08:59 AM
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 1998--
Elite Group of Compaq VARs to Become Certified to Deploy Targeted Solutions
Continuing to meet the needs of customers who require system integration and implementation support for enterprise applications, Compaq Computer Corporation CPQ today introduced the Enterprise Solution Provider (ESP) program. Composed of an elite, highly skilled network of qualified Compaq solution providers, ESP is designed to provide enterprise customers with customized and superior technology consulting, deployment, service and support to better meet their enterprise-specific solution requirements.
ESP builds upon the former Digital Priority Partner Enterprise program, which consisted of high-end Alpha/StorageWorks VARs and also will integrate Compaq's current Workstation Solution Provider program. Compaq's ESP program is available to all qualified Compaq Authorized Resellers, with approximately 400-500 targeted to participate through the end of 1998. Selected VARs will be trained and certified by Compaq and partners such as Oracle, SAP and others to deploy specialized solutions on Alpha and Intel platforms.
"As Compaq increases its focus and reach into the enterprise market, working closely with our resellers to deliver comprehensive solutions and support to customers will be critical," said Mike Pocock, Compaq Vice President of Channel Sales, North America. "Compaq's Enterprise Solution Provider program empowers resellers with tools to further grow their business, while at the same time deliver the highest levels of technical expertise, quality and overall satisfaction to our enterprise customers." An initial ESP ISV partner, Oracle Corp. will integrate ESP with its recently launched Oracle Partner Program (OPP) and offer differentiated training and demand creation activities for joint Oracle/Compaq partners.
"Linking ESP with our new Oracle Partner Program makes perfect sense," said John Hall, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Alliances, Oracle Corporation. "Both programs reward partners who demonstrate commitment to and competency in sizing, configuring and installing Oracle solutions on Compaq platforms. Through ESP and OPP, partners gain training, marketing and sales support -- ultimately benefiting our joint customers by enabling faster and more cost-effective implementations."
