KLAW has set up a good system of trading certain stocks for short term gains. I also know he plays some smaller stocks for long term gains as well. The theory there is that if the company is good enough, and the float is small enough, it will work out in the long run, especially if enough small buyers purchase enough shares to control the float.

Personally, I like to follow insider buying. I also like to really research a stock and take the time to talk with those who have the greatest knowledge of where a company might be headed. There is no absolute sure way to make money investing. I do think it's going to be relatively safe to go long in a number of individual stocks if not sectors now. The FED has strongly signaled that they are going to support this market to prevent a recession.
