Sam, we all utilize faith in our life
You used it when you married your wife
Without faith it is impossible to please God
He makes the rules, why should we think that odd?
Sam, utilize faith in Jesus & he'll eliminate your strife
Sam, I'd like to sit down with you some day
And see why you've gone astray
If you'd be reasonable
You'd be savable
Faith would overcome whatever "now" holds sway
I once sat down with a criminal in downtown Minneapolis. I was taken to him by Danny, a cohort of his that had become converted. Danny had already been sentenced and was due to be imprisoned in a few days. He wanted to share his faith with this former colleague of his. So downtown we went.
After Danny's powerful testimony, I shared God's plan of salvation with him as follows:
-The fact of sin
-The insufficiency of works
-Jesus bridges the gap between man & God
-Confession of our sins with repentance necessary
-Invitation to receive Jesus was given
And our criminal prayed to receive Christ. What a beautiful thing to see Jesus "walk right into that man's heart and life."
When we finally left, Danny said: "This beats any thing that my former life ever offered."
And it does, Sam.
I can tell you scores and scores of stories like the above of where Jesus came in and a life was changed.
