They Do Windows nytimes.com

Before Windows does them? Or is this more like this joke my girls were into a while back, which had a bunch of "I am the Viper" telephone calls, followed by a personal appearance: "I am the Viper. I Vant to Vipe you Vindows." At times, of course, I've wished someone would Vipe my Vindows good.

Anyway, this is a brief review of the old news Wendy Goldman Rohm book, by persnickety journalistic rival John Markoff. Only one good tidbit comes out here, as usual quoted for amusement only.

Hanging much of the narrative on a romantic triangle involving a former female Microsoft executive, Gates and his head attorney, William Neukom, Rohm attempts to tell us what Gates was thinking.

Ewwww. Caught between Bill Gates and Bill Neukom, you thought Monica Lewinsky had it bad with "friend" Linda Tripp and "lover" Bill Clinton. The monetary stakes were much higher, though, and there was arguably a lot more "abuse of power" going on too.

Cheers, Dan.
