Your desire to be able to sit with me is a mutual wish. You have a strong faith no doubt about it. The majority of faiths are people who are seeking to understand life and every one I know preaches morality.

When we speak of Christ we have a great problem with semantics. In order to arrive at truth we must have facts, not faith, for fact is truth. Faith is an imagined truth rather than a known one. You have a mental image of what you consider the word Christ describes. I have a completely different image of the word Christ. I believe I have a pretty good picture of what is in your mind for it based on the good book and tradition. I will not argue who has studied the good book more; but suffice it to say I am not a stranger to it.

You sincerely believe that Christ is to come. I know from experience that Christ has come to many already. You are expecting Jesus to return. I was also for over 40 years of my early life. I really do understand where you are coming from. As the saying goes, been there, done that. Baptized at 12, attended church every time doors opened for years, went to DLC (now DLCU)had bible class, led singing, waited on table, took sacrements to ill who couldn't attend and tried to be a good boy. So you see bible verses, the good book interpretations are just repetition of things known.

If we could get together I could expose you to facts I have dug from history and experience that would clarify to you what I have as the meaning of the word Christ. I do not think there is a Christian alive with an open mind who wouldn't be fascinated and want to know more.

All growth requires 4 elements. Earth, air, water, and fire. The good book tells you that you must baptized with fire as well as water. That fire is the Greek Chrestos. The Romans changed the name to Christos. It originally was Egyptian Karast. It's original meaning was a state of consciousness. The Romans ignorant of its meaning historicalized this state as the man Jesus. You understand Jesus. Someday you will understand Chrestos when it comes to you. Peter preached Jesus. Paul taught how to prepare to meet Chrestos. For Chrestos only comes to the level of consciousness that is prepared. Only after his death did the Romans take his true works and fit them into their contrived religion. I have experienced the Chrestos in me like Paul did. It has been born in me but is still in the developing stage. Just as I grew from a babe to an old man, so too, the Chrestos in me has to grow to maturity. Most people consider this a boast. I'm sure people on this thread will also. But it has the opposite effect on me. It makes me realize Sam is nothing and Chrestos is my true being and my toil of growing has just begun. I am merely the babe in Chrestos.
