Rob. Just double-checked the exhibitor list

for the Police Chiefs Show, and indeed Cycomm is listed and presumably will have a nice display. Since it is being held here in Salt Lake City I was going to try to attend but participants are limited to members, spouses, or guests of the IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police). There was a quick blurb on the morning news here showing the exhibit area and it looked very interesting.

The facility being used for the conference is a very good one with plenty of space suitable to good presentations. If you want to review it go to saltpalace.com for a list of events and activities.

Last month I also saw a quick news segment on the Fox News Channel showing some mobile computer units in police cars for Harris County, Texas (I think that was the county cited). This was a story showing the successful first phase implementation and the interviewer talked to one or two of the program leaders. Comments were extremely positive and further supported the benefits of speed in processing inquiries, IDs, ticketing, and reporting. Also the safety of the officers was enhanced by the quick communication of complete information. Cycomm was not mentioned by name, but the equipment sure looked like the PC Mobile Units Division of CYI. The upcoming year is slated to bring wider installation of units following this trial phase.
