I would have been happier to go bed tonight without that image Dwight. Anyway, as I'm sure you are aware many people have a deep investment in this issue and you have to wonder why, right? Obviously the people on the right of this issue just on principle and justified by religion think it is wrong to make a choice to eliminate a baby's life (especially in the violent extreme you just depicted). I'm wondering what's going on with the people on the left. Granted some times it is just wanting to be able to make a decision for my self. That doesn't go far because the decision is also for a baby; that is, if we are to value that baby as something more than meat. Some times I think people jump on the band wagon here. That is somebody could be attracted to the feminist image and this issue is a test of belonging. Same with some of the pro-lifers; maybe they haven't considered the issue as deeply as you but to fit in with a religious group they need to speak against it. I can't imagine a group of feminists coming out against abortion, can you? That's one of the reasons the "liberal" label has been dropped from the left wing. My real concern is for women who have gotten caught up in this and championed the idea, maybe even had a personal experience with it, and so are deeply vested emotionally and socially, as well as politically. It seems like there could be some reaching out, and invitation that is warm and unthreatening. Where do you see that safe haven? What do you see as catalist for change?
