I'll agree on education. Reaching into people's hearts? The "pro-life" movement is real good at that. A real "light one candle" crowd there.
I will repeat what I've written before. My understanding is that Western Europe has very few abortions. Western Europe also has a much more open and honest attitude about sex and birth control. That's not exactly where the people in the "pro-life" movement want to take us, is it? The places with the most abortions are the (former) Soviet Union and Japan, where it ends up being used routinely for birth control. Nobody thinks abortion is a good method of birth control. But few in the "pro-life" movement seems much interested in promoting better methods either, except one.
Late term abortions are rare and hard to get. It's not like the "pro-life" movement is going to stop there, though, is it? It's not like RU-486 has been attacked any less than "partial birth abortions", right? With about the same degree of honesty, too. You could attack the problem at the source, and try to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies. "Just say No" is not likely to be the most effective method of doing that. It's fine for religious people to preach that method to their congregations, but in an open society, it's just one of many possible solutions. I know, I know, it should be the only choice, we're a Christian Nation, it's all because of (lack of) School Prayer, Clinton is Caligula, and the West is doomed. The millennium is fast approaching.
