Alan, In regards to your question < is why did they do it in the first place?. > I believe Intel bought into MU because they see a resurgence in the memory business . One that will be profitable again since many other manufactures have shut down or scaled back. MU is projected to be one of the largest players in the next memory demand cycle. A new cycle of Dram products ( including Rambus based ) is upon us. Intel currently has a option for 10% of Rambus . This announcement with MU gives them a play in the whole memory business and allows them to guide MU into supporting the Rambus format. IMHO, this was very astute on Intel's part. I also expect MU to be a solid investment over the next 18 months.

Regards,
Tom
