Paul and Steve, Not only did Kurlak "Blow It" and not admit that he was wrong on his forecast that Q3 would be flat, and Q4 down, (but then quitely raised his estimates for Q4, 1998 and 1999), but I think worse, he ignored Intel's guidance and deceived his readers. During Intel's conference call Tom Kurlak specifically asked Intel about recent demand and orders. He was told that orders were very strong in September and continued very strong into October. Further, Intel stated that ASPs were flat for the last 5 quarters, (this directly contradicted Kurlak's previous report that ASP's were eroding), and that Intel currently could not manufacture enough parts to meet demand. However, once again Tom chose to disregard Intel's answers and wrote his report without acknowledging Intel's positives. (See my review of the Intel conference call on the INTC thread, and Tony Viola's review on this thread). Regards, Jules |
