I understand the need to look at this with a longer time horizon. It does not appear that the RNTK process will be converting any bottoms for at least a couple years.

I'm almost ready to give up on the idea that this thread will EVER understand that refinery bottom conversion has little or nothing to do with the price of crude now or forever. This is a myth that will simply persist despite everyone's best efforts. But I'll say it one last time anyway:

This is about the disposal of industrial waste. Even though the price of crude may be very low currently, the COST of disposing of industrial waste is high and rising consistently each year. It will continue to rise regardless of any commodity price movements, and it will eventually be prohibitive to do anything with bottoms EXCEPT convert them into some usable substance. True, if the price of crude rose high enough, the fuel created by the Rentech process would be enhanced in value. But that has very little to do with the economics of this process at this time.
