Les, a clarification on the scriptural quotations. They were meant to apply to the behavior of people on the Clinton threads towards one another, not to Clinton himself.
Folks around here have a tendency to throw abuse (stones) at one another, to accuse one another of just about every moral and intellectual sin in the book. So I started using scripture (half tongue in cheek), to josh them into stopping (especially since so many of the "offenders" were professed Christians).
Let us go back to the beginning of this particular exchange.

In the above post, an unsuspecting newcomer to this thread, in all innocence, suggested that the following quotation might be "relevant" to the subject of this thread:
Whoever can stop the people of his city from sinning, but does not, is held responsible for the sins of the people of his city.
If he can stop the whole world from sinning, and does not, he is held responsible for the sins of the whole world.
Well, for my part, I had had enough of people here going around denouncing the sins of the whole world, a la Robert Bork.
So I responded with quotations from the gospels suggesting that we would be better off taking care of our own sins first (most particularly, the sin of self-righteousness):

As you will note, I prefaced the third quotation (which I was using for the first time) with the observation that it was "especially good advice for political adversaries on the Clinton threads."
I still think it is. :-)
