G'day all - dear Clark, you sez "Those Hong Kong people got lazy and fat..."
You called me what?! <SG>. Well, I should explain. I ve been away from HK for so long that I can't possibly consider myself being that. In fact, the last time I went back for a visit, people there spotted me right away as someone just got off the boat <VBG>. But you see, I still ve relatives there - not that they want to recognize this black sheep. That's right, the family members who demonstrably lacked quality control got ship aboard <VBSG>. Therefore, by the law of inference, if they are lazy and fat, then I am in worse shape than that [now, I am getting paranoid, you obviously know me, so I may as well fess up, I am bald too <VVBSG>!]
To finish this with a more serious note, the powerhouse in HK has been people from Shanghai and Chow Chou. In a way, it may be true that those who sit on the laurel will eventually fall flat on their face. So cyclical existence is really meaning to behold. However, to paraphrase the old rascal, who knows what tomorrow will bring. Maybe Shanghai and HK will end up joint to the hip in the coming millennium [I always like to use the word <G>] Maybe HK simply has a friendly merger <VBG>
Anyway, all in friendly jest, as I value friends with positive critique more than fair weather kind. So I won't excommunicate you <G> and I hope you won't either.
best, Bosco |
