Mike:

That is a good point about the yen denominations being mostly on the consumer side. Thus it would show up disproportionately here I agree.

However that was $4 million last quarter not 4%. So even if there was a situation where they lost revenue because of the weaker yen (note they did not mention the yen effect in $$ this time - must have other pressing issues to talk about - like fab closings etc... <g>) it could not have been more than say $5 million. Also it is tricky for such a relatively large effect to compound quarter over quarter I think?

Having said that I should check my math because now I get 78 million for consumer electronics (based on 20% of 390m). If they were at 100 million before in Q2, then:

STB loss due to Echostar - subtract 10 million
yen depreciation effect - subtract 5 million (generous I think)
DCAM + DVD growth - add 10 million ("at least" - even with what LSI said these could be much more but I am being conservative)

Take these together and you get a net loss of -5 million. 100m - 5m =
95 million - so where did the other $17 million go? Enquiring minds want to know <g>.

[Sony revenues at say 33 million (again being generous to LSI) (between the 10% of 301 and not more than an 10% customer at 390 m. sets limits for the Sony business of 30m. and 39m.) is virtually all consumer (?)]

I suspect it is several more STB losses and maybe some weakness in the satellite STB area as well - but I don't really know!

Shane.
