my experience with cut and paste scans- is that I sometimes get ghost spaces- which cause errors in my scans- an innocent space after the line ends can generate some of these problems- I prefer- email export files- but some people- notably women who use AOL - have problems - with importing such files ( you know who you are)

this may be your problem- I suspect it is the web site you accessed that has the "ghost" spaces.
