Over the past week and a half, VTEL has released many important
announcements relating to its products, services and international
business opportunities.

First off, the company announced that it will offer H.323 support
across the entire product line, including software and hardware.
Among the benefits cited, the most important one is investment
protection for customers who remain uncertain about their IP
infrastructure deployment plans and don't want to make any mistakes
with their videoconferencing system purchases.

In order to support customers considering pilots of H.323 technologies,
VTEL has established a solutions consulting team focused entirely
on IP video networking. VTEL Professional Services' IP portfolio
is designed to match the step-by-step expansion of H.323 in enterprise.

VTEL followed the above with an announcement that it will acquire a
French videoconferencing company and establish VTEL France
operations in Paris. This comes on the heels of the creation of
VTEL Germany last month and there is no reason to believe that
the expansion needs to stop here.

And, last but not least, VTEL announced availability of its
second release of SmartVideoNet Manager, the company's
application for remotely controlling endpoints and diagnosing
problems on the network or in any individual system.

SmartVideoNet Manager lowers operating costs and improves
performance of circuit switched video networks.
