Motifs run their course
When the poet's imagination
Runs dry at the source
Not at any particular pagination

I do not want to prolong the Pope
But I do want to write gutter poems
And so in this I hope
For rhyme not narrative tomes

No matter how sharply sparkling they are
And yours are like close up twinkling stars

Even from you, a poem my dear Hubert
Your words are like pineapple sherbet
And their rhythm excites me
Like a hot fudge sundae

Are you nuts, am I the cherry?
