<<I am waiting till the end of the year.There will be lots of tax loss selling>> This isn't nearly as powerful a force in a generally bearish market as it is in a bull market and it won't be much of a factor this year unless the Dow hits maybe 9500. The percentage of investors with significant profits is going to be lower this year than in the past 7 or 8, and without short-term capital gains there is a lot less tax-related selling. Too bad there's no such thing as a "loss carryback"!
