I realize this year 2000 story is probably history but there are still some things that are hard to understand.

1) The language used in the bogus release appears to indicate some familiarity with the technology ('numeric interface transition' , '..allow code transition under multiple platforms'). As far as I can tell, no one on the year 2000 thread complained about this - the complaints had to do with 'silver bullet' solutions. This doesn't sound like some dumb slob who is trying to jack up a stock. Either this person is more clever than we should give them credit for or they really know alot and couldn't completely hide it.

Even if we ignor language:
2) It just doesn't make sense to me that a tiny company like Docucon gets 'hoaxed' out of the clear blue. If this was genuine fiction done by some shark or rogue shareholder, they must have known the lie would be uncovered very fast (which it was), that it probably would be next to impossible to take advantage of spiking stock movement, and it could do very serious damage to the Company's reputation (which probably would have immediate and long term effects on the stock). Instead, the stock price is up about 35% for the week and the corporate image is stronger than ever. Something is wrong with this picture. Maybe I'm incredibly naive and maybe I'll have to wait 6 months or a year or whatever, but I still think there is something going on here.
