Mon 19 Oct 98 In the News
The Financial Post reports in its Saturday edition that shares of Argentina
Gold fell 27 cents to $1.59 on the Vancouver Stock Exchange on Friday, on
volume of 2.5 million shares. Market Action columnist Garry Marr notes that
trading in the stock continued to be heavy following news that the gold
exploration company had made a solid strike in the Valle del Cura region of
San Juan Argentina. After bidding the stock up 60 per cent on volume of
four million shares on Thursday, investors drove it down 12.4 per cent on
Friday with volume still almost 50 times the average daily trading levels.
