jan! you are 100% right. notice how accurate the ellipse is.

looking at sp500 only, you see that the ellipse is slighly above the close of friday. my way of using the ellipse:

declare the market on the "beginning of a move up" when we see a close above the ellipse.

so far, we haven't and we should expect a DOWNLEG.

no matter if this is a bear or bull market, take each swing. go long and then go short. as traders, we dont worry about the "classification" of the market. yes, the market direction is important, but not the "battle between those guessing if the market is in a bull and bears"
