Jonathan, I've been reading your counterpoints with interest but thought I would mention this: Doesn't Sony offer a minidisk system that would allow consumers to record music from other sources (radio or CD)? If copying music without paying is the real issue then what is the difference other than Diamond is a struggling company that can probably be bullied and Sony is a powerhouse. Maybe the real issue is getting the music for free over the internet and not the Rio at all. Just thinking out loud, if Rio is stopped then maybe Sony sells more $199 minidisk systems. (all jmho)
