Mika,

I would think the answer to "what system do I need today?" is whichever system provides the best/most likely/cost effective route to a competitive system FARTHER out than 2-3 years down the road, ie 3G, whatever form it ultimately takes. This is of course what all the skirmishing is about.I think one has to assume that until the smoke clears, and as a result of global tumult, we are likely to witness a slower infrastructure buildout over at least the next year than what we've witnessed in the past several.

"cdmaOne might be the fastest growing, well 1+1 does equal 2...a 100% growth! So what? All future predictions tend to be miles out. It is a case of what "new" 2G operators are going to select and that, without the rhetoric, is still a very open question."

This statement is clearly wrong. CDMA of one flavor or another is the "agreed upon" future.
