Right you are, but remember Michelle, we're supposed to be the people in power. PBS and NEA are funded by our tax dollars. PBS could stand quite nicely on their own if privatized. They have, especially in children's programming, "franchise" programs that could probably "name their price" for advertising dollars. The idea for "Public Broadcasting" has come and gone. With huge diversity of programming available privately now, there is absolutely no reason for the tax payer to fund this enterprise.

BTW, the NEA would indeed fizzle if defunded and I frankly could not care less. The very idea of "state sponsored art" is repugnant to me.
