Good advice Victor: "Don't be fooled in believing that just because you are against the rest of the world it necessarily follows that you are right." I spend a lot of time reading and thinking because I have so little confidence in what I think I know. Anyone who has got far past childhood should be well aware they should be watching out for their blind spots. Spots being as big as half their brain! These spots are not freckles.

There is a corollary: "Don't be fooled into believing that just because you are with the rest of the world it necessarily follows that you are right".

If I can't find the holes in my ideas after putting in a lot of effort and asking people to pull them apart, then I go with them. So far, so good. I find I do much better by investing and generally acting differently from the rest of the world, preferably ahead of them. Following the crowd means buying at the top of the market, selling at the bottom [after all, everyone else is selling - not true, but I guess you know what I mean, ie agreeing with the mob that values are low], spending time in traffic jams, believing the earth is flat and joining in religious crusades against the filthy Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Protestants, Buddhists, Commies, Gooks, Poofters, and anyone else who doesn't behave like a clone of oneself. Oh yes, human cloning is evil too and cloning must be banned! Can't play God you know. Despite cloning being the great wonder of life. I heard DNA cloning represents life itself. DNA strands copy each other and make people, who make fancy gadgets like the QUALCOMM pdQ and clone them and their software by the billion.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you simply said a reverse split was nonsense. That was a general comment on the reaction from nearly everyone. There were a few reasoned ideas. Somebody asked, "What's a market capitalisation?" in Yahoo! a few days ago. That is the main reason not to do a reverse split. Many people have little idea of what's going on and they'll see the price is up and sell! Or not buy because it has gone up and they want it lower. Stuff like that. Then momentum carries stock prices quite a way and can leave them there for a while.

Examples of reverse splits such as TSRG are not very useful because as you point out, it is all in vain and pointless unless the fundamentals are sound and improving. What matters is the fundamental strength. Also, it's better if a stock is somewhat undervalued if a reverse split is considered. Overvalued and the higher reverse split price is quite likely to see erosion. Undervalued and that is not the case.

I obviously don't think Techniclone is greatly undervalued at present [not more than my other shares] and earlier in the year we had a "guess the price at the end of the year" competition. Mine was about the lowest [other than Endotarget's] at $4 or so. So far, the trend is my friend.

Bye for now,
Maurice

PS: Corollary 3: "A democracy might vote 80% in favour of something, but it doesn't make them right, it just tells you what is likely to happen". I heard 80% were in favour of slavery in days gone by, but voting certain groups or individuals to be slaves doesn't make the mob right. A concept I struggle with is that slavery is an automatic consequence of being a people. We are social beasts - having to act in an integrated way to even stay alive. The social order is therefore set by power. There is nowhere else to go. You can't come here to escape and I can't go there. The mere fact of power means our lives are circumscribed by those wielding power, who invariably choose to use that power, not to protect each from the other, but to dictate to individuals how they shall be, to comply with the mob concept of how things should be and what people should do. Not quite slavery, but not very different, if for example you are a homosexual and there are anti-homosexuality laws, or even if there aren't because the tone of a community can be pretty cruel to those it considers outcasts. I heard there was some young guy in the USA beaten to death because he was homosexual. Land of the free and brave. Then I saw this fat, smug Jerry Fallwell religious crank person on CNN saying how much he would love this young person, but spitting an attitude of hate.

Just some thoughts.
