I also got kicked off this morning and I get the following
error message:

Authorization failed: Retry?

I have used E*Trade's web service since its inception and let
me the first to say that this is not a new problem. Sometimes
I have to go a whole day without the ability to trade.

WARNING to all who use E*Trade's web service:
Be very careful when using multiple browsers in Netscape.
A couple months ago I had two open browsers: both of them
set up for buys on different stocks. When I submitted the
order it picked the stock that was in the OTHER browser.
I write software for a living and believe it to be a problem
with the caching algorithm. Of course I submitted a problem
report to E*Trade but to no avail. I no longer use multiple
browsers during online trading. Lesson learned.

For those traders that are active every day E*Trade is not the
answer. Their service at times is pretty quick, but many times
I have been completely unable to trade because of their server.
I am considering moving to Datek but I've been told they are
not available in Florida yet.

Feedback welcome
