Daewoo to

Starting in June.
"Daewoo Electronics said that it will mass produce the next
generation display for electronic devices, called TMA, or
Thin Film Micromirror Array-Actuated, starting in June
1999."

"TMA advances the state of the art in giant outdoor vidio
displays, seen atop buildings and in sports areans in many
cities
worldwide. Based on the AMA tecknology co-developed by
Daewoo and AURA SYSTEMS INC., The TMA device
uses 800,000 tiny mirrors to create the brightest digital
picture ever
developed."

'In preparation for mass-production at its semiconductor
plant in southeastern Seol, the company will invest 300
billlion won($230
million) to expand production facilities towards the end of this
year."

Daewoo Electronics added that arangements are already
underway to form a strategic allaince with one of the world's
leading electronic makers, such as Philips of the Netherlands,
RCA of the US or Sony of Japan, to commercialize the
AMA tecknology." from The Korea Economic Weekly
