A bear market takes pain. You mean, it's the bear market that giveth the pain, and a bull market that taketh the pain away. Unless you're on the short side. I agree, buy and holds just had the gentlest bear market possible. many big names virtually unharmed, and the duration was very short. A real bear can last many months if not years. I'm too young to have dealt with one of those, but I've seen the historical charts! Randy
