John, I believe in xDSL technology, however, here is an excerpt from an article I read in the Dec.15 issue of America's Network (a magazine for those people in the telecom industry).

"Cable modems will be the preferred mode for users looking to bring broadband content into homes and office, according to a new study. Despite the reported popularity of digital subscriber line (DSL) technologies, a new report from Communications Industry Researchers Inc. predicts cable modems will win the battle for Internet access."

I think we are in for interesting times, and it might be a wise idea to hedge ADSL bets with investments in cable modem companies, although I myself have not done that.
