Can you explain the laughter regarding Japan. I'm not saying that I agree with Prechter, but I observe similar optimism in US equities today -- after all, "value" is somewhat of a psychological construct. (Flashback to the industrial/competitive optimism toward Japan in the early 1990s.)

The baby boomer argument saws both ways, although press/media bombardment is unidirectional. Again, value is at essence as it relates to labor, commodities, money, etc. Value adjustments may adversely shift saving, investment and consumption patterns.
