Off hand, I would give it a miss (other than as a short-term play). I can see the tape drives as being good for network server backups but not for workstations.

For backing up workstations, I think the way to go is burning CDs (at the server). A $4 CD can hold 800 Meg of random access data -- more than enough for most users -- and allowing the user to remove old files from their hard disk with little chance of losing the data.
