As we close in on post #8500 it might be a good time to reflect on the history of this thread.
Truman Bradley founded the "Bob Brinker: Market Savant & Radio Host" thread on SI on December 16, 1996. MMV submitted the first post. Yes, Mohan {MMV}, was a bit bearish in those days too. From December 29 to January 26 there were no posts at all on the thread and it could have died out right there but for Truman and others. Can you imagine this thread going almost a month without a post now??
Charter member Justa joined in the flight of the "starship" with post #316. Don Lane began sharing his insightful thoughts with #509. Dipy reared his bearish head with #1289 {You know, Dipy was a kinder and gentler poster then}. Kirk beamed aboard with post #2005 {He tried for 2001, as in "A Space Odyssey" but was a little too late.} Rillinois.... well I quit after Kirk as I am really not that interested when Rill joined the fray.
There are now about 380 messages posted per month here. At that level we should reach our own millennium celebration... post #10,000 in about four months. Wouldn't it be great if we could get Truman to come back from his self imposed exile and do us the honor of posting #10,000? With his flair for the English language I would wager it would be one to remember.
If there is anyone out there who knows how to contact Truman I would ask that person to ask Truman if he would be willing to come back for that special occasion.
In the meantime, who is going to grab post #8500? Jeff
