Old news story that may have fallen off of some sites.

Note that Mr. Hoge must be pretty good if he is heading
the standards committee.

Committee to Set Industry Standard for Testing of HID Ballasts

HANOVER, Md., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- SLS Industries, Inc.
(BB: SLSI) announced that its vice president of engineering,
John Hoge, will chair an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C82-2 technical sub-committee that will develop the industry standard for testing "High Frequency Electronic Ballasts" for HID lighting. ANSI is the United States lighting standards authority.
A member of the Lamp Ballast and Lighting Fixture section of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), SLS Industries is a member of the ANSI C78-4 and C82-2 sub-committee for the development of ANSI C78 and C82 American National Standards for HID lamps and ballasts. "SLS Industries was a natural candidate to head this technical sub-committee," said SLS president Richard Pazornik. "SLS is the first and only NEMA member to develop dimmable 150-250w electronic HID ballasts, and will now play an important role in setting industry standards for this revolution in lighting."
