Sam,
All due respect on this one. It is a historical fact that there is a very long lag in productions due to price swings. Inelastic as they say in economics.
It is a yearly sort of thing, not a reaction to a $50 price bounce.
It take some big time effort,planning,luck etc. to find gold.
At $500 to $600 gold, everyone will be churning to print the stuff. At $320 or $350 - a big yawn.
