More likely IBM is unhappy about VECO buying Digital Instruments and making and selling their own brand of AFM. I presume from what I have read that Digital Instruments has more patents, and possibly the better product. VECO had the distribution, and can perhaps divert many of the former IBM customers to the Digital Instruments product. Also, VECO has been kicking ZYGO's butt lately in the Wyko area, so VECO may be OK. Still, ZYGO was up 38% today even though this news was old.

This may the be the reason for the large volume of insider sales, and also why this stock has lagged badly the last week or so.
